New for 2010

The Rest and Relaxation User Fee that the School charged in 2009 has been done away with. Persons accompanying a spouse/friend but not taking a class do not have to be registered. Therefore, the School does not have to pay a registration fee for them and can thus discontinue the R & R User Fee. But they will be required to pay individually for accommodation, meals, the Sunday barbeque and the Thursday banquet if they would like  to attend.

NEW REGISTRATION FORMAT

Decide which course you would like to take.  If possible, tell us your second preferred class choice, in case the first class is over-subscribed. Decide on what food and accommodation package you would like, if any?

After receiving your Prospectus, you can pre-register your choice any time prior to registration day, by phone e-mail or fax.

On registration day, some of the School’s Board members will gather at Sorrento Centre and compile the class lists. If a class is over-subscribed the Committee will conduct a "lottery" for the 10 positions in the class. Those whose names are not pulled will be registered for their second choice of class should it be available. Class choices not filled will be put on a waiting list in the order they come out of the hat.

Once the class lists are made up, Sorrento Centre will contact all students and let them know which of the two class choices they are registered for, or if their name is on a wait list for a class. In all cases, Sorrento Centre will endeavor to register you in your preferred class choice.

Welcome to the 6th annual gathering of the Shuswap School of Woodcarving in September 2010 at the Sorrento Centre in Sorrento, BC. Please join us for a week of woodcarving, watercolour and fellowship with those with similar interests. The week kicks off with a 'welcoming barbeque' (included in the registration fee) and then on Thursday evening we will be having a banquet with a gift exchange. You don't have to be registered in a class to stay, so bring your spouse for a week of social activities and exploration of the Sorrento area. They are welcome to join in the evening activities.

Please do not bring your pets with you as Sorrento Centre has a NO PET policy.

A supply list will be sent along with your registration confirmation.
Maps are available upon request from Sorrento Centre.

Carving supplies and tools will be available for sale on site, so if you do not already have the tools on the supply list, you will be able to purchase them there.

A Non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required upon registration, with the balance due by September 1, 2010. There will be no refund after September 1, 2010.

2009 course fees were $360.00 (includes all taxes)  but the 2010 fees are not yet confirmed.

A shop/supply fee is listed in each course description, payable to the course instructor on first day.
